I was dead in the water. As soon as the smiling face of the Little Printer appeared on my laptop screen I was completely on board. Take my credit card details now. I want one of these next to my bed. You see I have a problem with current events, meaning I have little to no clue about them. Pop Music – yes, Knitting – of course, bad television – I’m your man but current affairs are not my forte. This is not because I enjoy being out of touch, it’s simply because I don’t like watching the news. Little Printer will take care of this problem and show off some other tricks too.
The small guy is basically an internet connected thermal receipt printer who spits out your choice of content once or twice a day. This ranges from the latest headlines on the Guardian, to your friend’s whereabouts on fourquare or you latest Nike+ stats. On top of that the Little Printer will also offer tidbits such as a sudoku puzzle, word of the day or another snippet of knowledge that I’m sure will enrich the mind.
I find it is very easy to get stuck in a routine, doing the same thing every day. What the Little Printer will hopefully offer me is a bite-sized receipt of wisdom and news that I can stuff in my pocket and read on my morning commute. This way I won’t be allowed to view my world in the same narrow lens, the Little Printer will remind me every morning that there is a big world out there to experience and learn from. And with a face like that, how can you refuse? Looking forward to it’s debut in with the help of Berg.
